Meter Stations
• Assistance with design reviews, commissioning, startup and documentation of gas metering facilities, component systems, and operations.
• It’s important that after spending a considerable amount of money on meters and calibration the meter runs are installed into well designed piping configurations that eliminate or greatly reduce noise and gas profile problems. This is especially true for ultrasonic flow meter runs.
• The complexity of meter stations and the importance of accurate measurement makes it very important to thoroughly check out all inputs and outputs for proper calibration and operation. The functionality of all auxiliary systems such as hazardous gas monitors, intrusion monitoring, remotely operated valves, etc. need to be checked out to ensure safe, proper and reliable operation.
• The checkout, commissioning and startup of meter stations needed to be done in a structured, formalized and thoroughly documented manner before being put in-service. This effort assists the local technicians in learning the details associated with operation of the station; provides documentation for trouble shooting of operational and/or measurement problems that may arise long after the station is in operation. It also provides evidence to the customer that their gas is being received/delivered and measured in the best possible manner.
